Shane Endsley & The Music Band at Joe’s Pub

May 31, 2011

A Denver native, Shane is a graduate of the Eastman School where he studied trumpet, drums/percussion and composition.

He has toured and recorded extensively with Ani DiFranco and Steve Coleman and has been doing work around NY with Josh Roseman, Dave Binney, Ravi Coltrane, John Hollenbeck and others.

He is currently playing drums and trumpet in a trio with Ralph Alessi and Tim Berne, and rotary flugelhorn (truba) with Slavic Soul Party.

Mr. Endsley recently released “Then the Other” (Low Electrical), an unassuming statement of principle for Mr. Endsley, a trumpeter who has a fondness for deep melody and deeper groove. He revisits the album’s themes here with a sure-footed group featuring the pianist Gerald Clayton, the bassist Matt Brewer and the drummer Ted Poor. This Wednesday 6/1/2011 at 7:30 p.m., Joe’s Pub, at the Public Theater
