Jeremy Pelt LIVE at Smoke!

November 10, 2012

Heralded for years as one of the rising stars in jazz, Jeremy Pelt has earned accolades for his staggering virtuosity, which has elicited comparisons to trumpet icons like Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan and Freddie Hubbard, as well as for his studious, cerebral approach to the music. While he’s clearly the man in charge here, Soul, his latest release on the HighNote Label, is very much a band-focused package, with all five members of the group heard distinctively and insistently throughout. His annual fall weekend at Smoke celebrates his November 4th birthday and this year’s party will feature the music from this well-received latest effort.

The group will play selections from ‘Soul’ including The Ballad of Ichabod Crane and What’s Right is Right TONIGHT at Smoke Jazz and Supper Club.

Here is the line-up:
Mr. Pelt-Trumpet
Roxy Coss-Saxaphone
Danny Grissett-Piano
Dwayne Burno-Bass
Jonathan Barber-Drums

See you tonight at SMOKE!
