June 28, 2013

cthurmanEmmanuel Baptist Church Jazz Vespers is bringing in summer on a high note!

Modern with a touch of the old school, Camille Thurman will conjure up melodies reminiscent to the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, while adding her own signature twist to it. Her ability to take the sounds evocative of yesteryear’s legends and creatively pair them with the nuances, edge and freshness of today’s music has expanded the possibilities of jazz in the upcoming generation. Camille leads her own quartet, which has performed at the Kennedy Center, the International Women in Jazz Festival, the Super Jazz Ashdod Israel Festival, The Jazz Gallery and many other prominent jazz venues and festivals around the world.
