Spotlight on Literature: Now That I’m Stronger by Valina Rudolph

December 16, 2013

What would you do if, in one moment, you learned your entire life was a lie?

“I did it.” These three words, uttered by Brianna’s father, changed her life forever. Confident in her father’s innocence, Brianna had been convinced that the jury had made a mistake. Instead, with her father’s admission of guilt, everything she believed to be true is suddenly called in to question.

These are the opening lines of NOW THAT I’M STRONGER the debut novel by the very talented Valina Rudolph. This is a coming-of-age story about a girl who’s father ends up in prison for a crime she did not believe he was capable of committing. As time goes by, and the truth comes out, her life takes a different turn as a result of discovering who her father really is, who she really is. It’s a story of growth, of courage and of moving forward in the wake of a truth that is difficult to accept.
